Hi, my name is Dawn aka The Canny Lass and I live in Scotland with two kids aged 17 and 20, two dogs and a Silkie chicken called Buttercup. Although both my children now work, I am the sole provider. My beloved husband died in 2016 from cancer, so it’s just been me, my daughter and son since then. It’s not been easy, but we get there. Anyway, I’ve set up this blog to document my drive towards living better on a set income: being more frugal, giving up my impulse shopping and trying to be greener. I’m not perfect, I won’t always get everything right, but I’m going to try my best.
