Confession time: I still haven’t done an inventory of my freezer. But hear me out! I did clean out the utility room and throw out a whole load of stuff I didn’t need any more. I recycled what I could and threw out the rest. The utility room is now much cleaner, more streamlined and has only stuff in it that I need and use. I can also find things much more easily.
So, how has your week been? Have you been able to save money anywhere? Last weekend, I did splash out a bit. I got the train down to Dumfries to meet a friend for lunch. Yes, it cost me in train fares, but she bought the lunch (which was at the Globe Inn and utterly delicious) – I’m buying next time – and we did chat about resurrecting a tv series script we had been writing. We also chatted about other money building ideas including starting up a writers’ retreat in the Scottish Borders. My friend has an amazing smallholding and we could do this together there. It’s something we’re looking into.

Last week, I also put together some free downloadable tools for you guys to use: Free Downloadables – The Canny Lass There’s a money tracker, a goals tracker, a form you can fill in when you do a stocktake of your food plus a menu planner. If there’s anything else you might find useful, let me know. If I can create it, I will.
This week, I have been mostly concentrating on my writing career, but I’ve also been looking out more ideas for posts for this blog, so stay tuned.
Right, I’m afraid this is me for this week. Later this week, I will be sharing some more advice on how to save on food or other frugal matters. See you then!
