If you are at all interested in frugal living, Amy Dacyczyn’s Tightwad Gazette is a must. It’s an American book based on the newsletter she and her husband used to put out, and it’s an excellent resource for all types of frugal living tips from Amy and her army of admirers.

Amy has now retired, so her newsletter is no more, but this fantastic book is still available to buy on Amazon. As I write, it’s £17.26, so not cheap, but it’s worth it. NB: I’ve added the link above, but I don’t get a commission on recommending this book (in case you were wondering).

I have literally just discovered that there is a Tightwad Gazette fan club on Facebook – of course I immediately joined. Hopefully, I’ll get more tips from there!

Top Tip

If you, like me, like a nice tablecloth on your dining table then here’s a good tip for you. Don’t buy expensive tablecloths. Instead, buy cotton single bed flat sheets. You can get them in various colours and they wash well too. I bought a white one last year for the Christmas table. Cost me £7.99 as opposed to £16.99.

I’ll have to check out that book, thanks. And I can’t believe how expensive certain things are like tablecloths, bath mats, etc. Great idea with the bed sheet!
